'Ocka Baby in a Pee-Pops

Usually when I start singing, my kids respond thusly:
"Oh our dearly beloved mother, one who cares for us and loves us beyond all comprehension, you nurture our souls, minds, hearts, and bodies, and we are forever grateful, but we have one favor to ask of you, which is would you kindly refrain from continuing your singing?"
Actually, that is what they mean to say, I just know it. What actually comes out sounds a little bit more like this:
"STOP SINGING!!!"
followed by a lot of garbled gagging and what not. In Natalie's case, it sounds like this:
"Pop it, hinging, Mommy." which can be translated as "Stop it, singing, Mommy."
(Hey, you know what? Just for that, I'm not going to post any pictures of them today...you can beg and plead and pull my leg all you want, I'm not doing it. If it is just killin' ya, and you have to see them today, just look at the pictures from yesterday's post...or the day before...or the day before...they haven't changed much in 24 hours.)
These adorable children espescially react to the song "Love, Me" by Colin Raye. (What can I say, sometimes a girl just has to break into that song. ("I read a note my Grandma wrote back in 1923...)) But that's a rabbit trail for another day. (Here, bunny, bunny! Carrots!)
Well, for the past few nights, Natalie has decided to break her ban on Mommy's singing to allow me to lullabye her to sleep. She says "Hing again, Mommy" as I put her to bed. Now, I know that this may well just be a stall tactic, but I don't care. It's sweet. So I started singing last night, and she said "No, pop it, Mommy, hing "'ocka- baby in a pee-pops." So I started singing again: "Rock a bye baby, in the tree tops..." only to be interrupted again :"No, hing 'ocka baby in a pee-pops." This went on 2 or 3 more times before she was finally satisfied that I was singing the right song. And then she asked me to "hing again, mommy." So I did. and she asked me to "hing again, mommy." So I did. Like 5 times. And then I wised up and told her it was time for her to sleep. She finally and unwillingly obliged.
Another thing Natalie says is "Gonk." This means "Milk." Be assured that if Natalie is asking for her "Gonk, she is probably tired. If she is tired, she will need to be put to bed. As you put her to bed, she will ask you to "hing again." She will espescially ask you to "hing 'ocka baby in a pee-pops." And if you start to sing anything else, she will tell you to "Pop it."

I just wanted to tell all y'all that I don't even know if "thusly" is actually a word. It's just something that Alton Brown says a lot, and I think it's hilarious.
